A few days ago our family read from Mosiah chapter 24 where Alma and his people are being persecuted for their belief in God and are made slaves to their enemies. They pray for relief and the King declares that they cannot pray, so instead of praying out loud they all pray in their hearts. “And it came to pass that the voice of the Lord came to them in their afflictions, saying: Lift up your heads and be of good comfort……” the Lord covenants with them to eventually free them from bondage or slavery but until then he promises to ease the burdens. In their afflictions they were strengthened and became a stronger people spiritually and physically so that they could bear their burdens. It has been a long time that our family has been struggling financially and I have been praying most every day for deliverance. I know that someday things will get better, meanwhile I know that the Lord is with me and helping our family through this time and that we will be smarter, stronger people for it, if we can just hold the faith through until the end.
